Practice Area
Ms. Barmby's practice encompasses all aspects of civil litigation defense work. Her areas of expertise include discrimination, negligent hiring/retention/supervision, personal injury, products liability, catastrophic injuries, and premises liability. She represents both public entities and private clients in a variety of complex litigation matters. Ms. Barmby earned her law degree in 2007 from McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento, California. While in law school, she participated in a comparative law program under Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy in Salzburg, Austria. Prior to joining Patterson Buchanan, Ms. Barmby practiced in California at a civil defense litigation law firm where she handled all aspects of personal injury, employment, and business litigation. She represented public and private clients in both trial and appellate practice. She has prepared for and participated in numerous jury trials, arbitrations, and mediations, including acting as lead counsel in trial on behalf of a national steel manufacturer where she obtained a defense verdict in favor of her client.
