Practice Area

Ms. Terrien's practice focuses on general public entity defense.  She has worked on a wide variety of cases involving school law and employment issues, representing school districts, fire districts, and counties.

Before joining Patterson Buchanan as an associate, Ms. Terrien gained a solid foundation of litigation experience by working for Patterson Buchanan as a summer associate.  During law school, Ms. Terrien externed for the Honorable Ricardo S. Martinez, United States District Judge for the Western District of Washington.  There, she assisted Judge Martinez on both civil and criminal cases by conducting legal research and drafting bench briefs and orders.

Between Ms. Terrien's first and second years in law school, she spent the summer in Africa, where she worked with a Magistrate Judge in Fort Portal, Uganda.  The purpose of Ms. Terrien's placement in Uganda was to increase the efficiency of court procedures and work with judges and court personnel to improve legal writing techniques.  Ms. Terrien also participated in Seattle University School of Law's Global Justice Advocacy Programme, in which she took classes in comparative law at the Mandela Institute of the School of Law, University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa.
