Pat Buchanan Named "2010 Woman of Influence" by Puget Sound Business Journal
The Puget Sound Business Journal has named Pat Buchanan one of its "Women of Influence" for 2010. The 2010 honorees were recognized at an awards banquet on November 18, 2010, at the Hyatt Regency Bellevue and are featured in a special November publication in the Business Journal.
The recipients of the award were selected by an independent panel of judges, who chose from among nominees of "women within the business community who:
- have the authority and power to move the needle in their business
- are respected for accomplishments within their industries
- give back to the community
- and are sought out as respected advisors and mentors within their field of influence."
A founding principal of Patterson Buchanan, Ms. Buchanan is a highly accomplished and respected litigator, as well as a valued mentor. Among her other community service contributions, she recently was elected president of the Advisory Board of the Seattle Children’s Hospital Medical Legal Partnership, a program dedicated to ensuring low-income children are provided services necessary to acquire and maintain essential health care as well as accommodations in the community and public schools. She also holds an M.B.A. from the University of Washington's Foster School of Business. Her profile in the Business Journal, available here, highlights her role in co-founding the firm in June 2007 with 11 lawyers and the fact that the firm today "has over 30 lawyers with 60-plus employees and has recently opened a Portland office."
The Puget Sound Business Journal is a weekly publication covering business people, issues, and events in the greater Seattle area. The Journal began the Women of Influence awards in 2004 "to specifically honor women who have made giant contributions to the business community and to the community at large."
