Mr. Cuff’s practice focuses on employment litigation and consulting and his experience runs the gamut of employment law issues from discrimination and retaliation to wage and hour and leave issues.

Before joining Patterson Buchanan in 2008, Mr. Cuff served for nearly a decade as an associate with an AV-rated law firm focusing on management-side employment law litigation and consulting. Before practicing law, Mr. Cuff also served a tour of duty in Army Intelligence and studied intensive Russian at the Defense Language Institute.

Since 2011, Mr. Cuff has also been an Arbitrator for King County Superior Court focusing on employment arbitrations.

  • Hamby v. Eye Associates Northwest, et al. – Defense verdict in potential multi-million dollar several week-long trial of complex multiple chemical sensitivity (MCS) disability discrimination case brought by ophthalmologist against former partners. (Prevailed.)
  • Meyer v. Albertsons – Defense summary judgment in Eastern District of Washington federal age discrimination action brought by store management. (Prevailed.)
  • Hamby v. Eye Associates Northwest, et al. – Division I appellate affirmation of defense summary judgment dismissing unsafe workplace claim as not deliberate, and thus, not exempt under Washington’s workers’ compensation law. (Prevailed.)
