Mr. Leonard’s practice focuses exclusively on the representation of school districts in Washington State. Mr. Leonard represents districts on a wide variety of school law issues, including: labor and employment; collective bargaining; union grievances and arbitration; employee misconduct investigations; employee discipline; student and teacher rights; board governance; public disclosure and open public meetings; and special education.

Mr. Leonard previously worked in Auburn School District as the Director of Human Resources and Legal Affairs. As in-house counsel for the District, Mr. Leonard represented the District on all legal issues arising out of the daily operation of schools. As a former District employee, Mr. Leonard has a unique understanding of the complex issues facing school districts. He brings a client-focused approach and is passionate about advocating for schools.
